How much would it cost to power the Death Star?
Seems that for the Empire, money seriously is not a problem, and their economy is way beyond of what we can imagine, in previous articles we told you about the cost of operating an AT-AT, then later Darth Vader’s suit cost, now, with this one is how much would it cost to power the Death Star.
Ovo Energy, in commemoration of the upcoming release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (watch the trailer here), wanted to figure out how much would it cost to power the Death Star, the ultimate weapon of the Empire, capable of destroying planets.
This calculation includes how much costs to fire the terrible laser, the quantity of people that lives in the station and how much it costs to feed them. And the final number they got, with the help of Alexander Barnett, a math professor at Dartmouth University, and Stephen Skolnick, editor of Physics Central is nothing less than $6.2 octillion, not even all the countries of the world together have that much money.
So as I said, seems that money is not a problem for the Empire, or maybe the exchange rate we are using is not the right one.
But get the details in this infographic and tell us what you think.
